Locryn Finds a Bird’s Nest

While tending to his vegetable garden today, Locryn found a bird’s nest in one of the potted plants! It was the perfect topic for our daily “Locryn’s Biology/Nature Lesson”!

We spoke about how nests are built to provide a safe, warm place for bird eggs and baby birds. Mommy and Daddy birds work incredibly hard to build their nest. They must go and gather every piece of it with their beaks or feet! Different types of birds build their nests out of different types of material. Some birds use twigs, moss, leaves, mud, or even rocks.

Our nature loving (almost) three year old exclaimed “THAT’S HARD WORK!”
